Police Misconduct
The most common forms of police misconduct include:
Ø Arrests during routine stops for no reason
Ø False arrests
Ø Negligent care of inmates or suspects in custody
Ø Use of excessive force
Ø Improper search or seizure
Ø Racial profiling
Ø Planting drugs on someone
Ø Arresting someone for refusing to divulge information
Ø Harassment
Ø Keeping a "code of silence" about other officers' conduct

If you have been a victim of police misconduct, it is imperative that you write down as much information as you can about the incident, including:
Ø The date and time of the event
Ø Who was present at or witnessed the event
Ø The names of the officer(s) and other individuals involved
Ø Whether you were injured, and if so, details and documentation
Ø Notes of conversations that you have had with people involved, including after the event
